Dear Zia,

Thanks for sending the information about the reception being planned

for this megalomaniac Military Dictator.. My brief comments I place
below. I hope they can reach him and his teams of sycophants.

He surely can have heroes return. But he and his cronies will meet

their doomsday. The damage done by him and his team of loyalist
Generals, who are in galore, would face peoples wrath. Their
ignominious conduct and behaviour far out weigh any glories that they
earned for their Army and the Country. The liar that he is and the
moral turpitude shown by him, does not give him the courage to have
any open debate with his erstwhile colleagues in arm. We can invite
him and his hand picked team to an open debate on TV or any other
forum. The comfort and security of Marriott is hardly the place.

This Army has suffered ignoble characters of his type long enough.

Now, it is enough is enough.

With Best Regards

Mahmud

On Kautsky’s Foundations of Christianity – Part Three of the Introduction to the new German edition By Alan Woods

ChristianityThe growth of Christianity during the first centuries of the modern era was phenomenal, especially among the lower orders. People who had nothing on earth and who lived in poverty were promised immense rewards in the after-life – provided they accepted their lot as slaves. This doctrine had an obvious appeal to the downtrodden masses, but it had equally obvious advantages for the ruling class. Eventually, the latter realized this and took the appropriate measures. But all these measures were in vain. The Church continued to thrive despite persecution – and possibly because of it.

Phil Goff - Agência BrasilFor the Labour Party the 2011 general election defeat was the worst since 1928. The main factor for this was the historic low turnout as many workers stayed at home and were not enthused enough by the right-wing leadership of the Labour Party to go out and vote. The turn out was down from (what was considered then a low turnout) 79.46% at the 2008 general election to 73.83%. This was the lowest turnout since 1878!

The 1960s: Lessons for Today By Tom Trottier

The 1960s: Lessons for TodayThe Occupy movement has many people looking to past movements to see what we can learn from them that can help us in today's struggles.  The period of the 1960s and early 1970s was one of upheaval around the world: May 1968, the Tet Offensive, the revolution in Pakistan, etc. The USA was not exempt from these powerful social movements. In the 1950s, the movement to end Jim Crow segregation helped to spur on movements against the U.S. imperialist war on Vietnam, large strike movements by the working class, and the movements for equal rights for women and the LGBT community.

While between 2 and 3 million struck in Britain, in the North of Ireland about 200,000 people took part in the Public Sector  strike action on 30th November. Schools and civil service offices were shut, as were job centres and council services. Rail and bus services were non-existent. Union members held marches, pickets, and rallies throughout the country over the issue of pensions. The main rally took place in Belfast city centre, where around 15,000 gathered and several thousands spread over Craigavon, Omagh, Armagh, Ballymena, Derry and other towns.
